We often think legacy is money, traditions, or achievements. Yet what about the legacy our nervous system passes on? Emotional legacy is what our children inherit; through our tone, presence, silence, and stress responses. This is for the mums doing it all, carrying it all and ready to change what’s passed down.
The Emotional Legacy We Leave Behind
We often think legacy is money, traditions, or achievements. Yet what about the legacy our nervous system passes on? Emotional legacy is what our children inherit; through our tone, presence, silence, and stress responses. This is for the mums doing it all, carrying it all and ready to change what’s passed down.
The concept of emotional legacy.
As someone who ponders and thinks deeply; legacy and the weight of my own Legacy is something that has played on my mind for a long time. What do I want to be remembered for is something I was asking myself on repeat as an 18 year old trying to decide on my career path. This same question consumed much of my mental headspace whilst I couldn’t work out what exactly I wanted to do as a 20-30ish year old.
At one stage I actually had registered social media urls and Facebook page and groups for “Legacy Creators” as well as “Leavers of Legacy”. Be right back whilst I go and check if they still exist…..
Yes, yessss they do. Here is one of the screenshots for reputable evidence of this time. This page also gives me a beautiful time stamp (YAY I’m all for the timeline) of 13th September 2020.
Back then I was really working hard to solidify the type of Legacy I wanted to leave. I also had a desire to help others in getting clear around creating their Legacy hence “Legacy Creators” #cringe LOL!
So now that we have some pre-context lets fast forward to today. If I asked you to stare into the clouds, accessing your limitless imagination or to put pen to paper in your journal around what a Legacy means to you? Or a better question to ask; what type of Legacy do you wish to leave for your children, grandchildren and future generations to come?
You would absolutely not be alone in answering an aim to create financial stability or make a positive impact in your communities through charitable actions or mentorship. Sometimes preserving traditions like Italian Sugo Days, Nannas Sponge Cake, or Christmas Pudding.
All beautiful, thoughtful and kind legacies to pass over.
YET; the concept I so deeply desire to introduce to you today is the concept of Emotional Legacy.
The type of Legacy that sees Regulated Nervous Systems rewritten and transcends generational layers. Emotional Legacy is the energetic imprint we pass down; not through our words or will, but through our nervous system.
It’s the way our children learn what’s safe to feel.
It’s the tone behind our “I’m fine.”
It’s the silence after conflict.
It’s whether we meet stress with shutdown or softness.
We don’t just inherit eye colour or blood type.
We inherit coping patterns, emotional absences, the unsaid, the unhealed.
From each generation we unknowingly pass down these things; not because we’re ‘bad parents’, this unfolds because body always tells the story it was taught.
To heal your emotional legacy means to interrupt the cycles.
To regulate what was once dysregulated.
To anchor calm where chaos was normal.
To choose presence over pattern.
You don’t do these things with perfection; you do it with awareness, with tools, and with safety in your own body. This is how I now get to live out my own legacy; to positively impact future generations.
It’s not just healing for you.
It’s a generational ripple.
If your emotional legacy is something you would like to explore and work on together it would bring me great pleasure to connect with you. Head to the booking section and schedule a Kinesiology session together.
Our sessions together are blending frequency-infused kinesiology, nervous system regulation, and sacred emotional decoding, this is more than parenting support; it’s a generational healing portal.
B xx
